Venus the Morning Star
April 2025 Astrology centers around Venus. Venus has returned to her position as a morning star, rising before the Sun. Despite all that may be, Venus is a reminder to prioritize what makes life pleasurable, joyful. Is it beauty, art, or meaningful connections? She comes first.
We are nearing the end of the Venus Retrograde cycle from Aries to Pisces. Venus retrograde is a reminder of our agency to assign worth and value. What is it worth if it doesn’t create joy, beauty, pleasure, connection? What is it worth if it does not make us feel good? What is it worth if it makes the world an uglier place?
More importantly, what is our time and attention worth? And what are the things we are giving our time and attention to? These are important questions to consider, especially as Venus meets up with Saturn not once but twice this month.
When Venus Meets Saturn
Saturn can have the effect of alienating Venus from the things that bring her joy, which can feel restrictive. Saturn is serious-minded and when it connects with Venus, it shifts the focus onto what does hold worth and value long-term. Quality over quantity. Longevity over convenience. Beauty that withstands the test of time.
Venus Moons square Mars
Both lunations this month are ruled by Venus: Full Moon in Libra on April 12th and New Moon in Taurus on April 27th. Also interesting to note, both Moons are square to transiting Mars. We are driven by our emotions, and there is a deep desire to take action to relieve our emotional uncertainty. That’s a bit of a challenge these days, isn’t it?
The world seems more uncertain than ever before. I invite you to refocus your attention on what you do have control over. Your inhales and exhales. Your ability to take agency over your own life. Your choosing of bravery over fear, and action over despair. Trust that you are able to navigate whatever comes your way. You’ve made it this far.
Neptune, the Higher Octave of Venus
It’s an interesting month that begins just days after Neptune’s ingress into Aries. Neptune is often referred to as a higher octave of Venus. It’s easy to see why: Venus is concerned with beauty. Neptune is associated with glamor. Venus tends to relationships. Neptune blurs the boundaries between relationships. Venus rules art and aesthetic, Neptune rules photography, dance, and music. Neptune takes Venus’ themes and turns it up to eleven, adding the element of movement and ephemerality.
But Neptune is slippery and evasive. Neptune energy is falling asleep at the beach on a sunny day only to wake up from your nap and realize that the fog has rolled in. It may be unclear what Neptune in Aries will look like this early on–but that’s the thing about fog, sometimes we don’t realize how thick it is until we are in the thick of it.
As a late degree Pisces Rising, I can tell you all about the fog. Especially now as I am on the other side of it. I’ll share more on this later…
